American Idol: David Cook's Brother Has Passed Away

Last Saturday, David Cook`s brother Adamlost hiseleven year struggle with brain cancer. David announced Adam`s passing on Sunday, while in Washington D.C.

for the twelfth Annual Race for Hope, which benefits finding a remedy for the disease. Keep reading for more info and how you can lead to David`s Race for Hope team_

According to a Cook family source, David was on road to see his comrade when he passed. However, David was capable to see a couple weeks ago, after cancelling some shows on his tour. The source said, "The mob thought that Adam would go much earlier than this, actually. That`s why David left his turn a few weeks back so that he could be with Adam. They said their goodbyes then."

The reigningAmerican Idol, whowas also the honorary president at the Race for Hope,said, "Like everybody here, I`m touched by this disease. I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor. I couldn`t imagine_ I couldn`t imagine being anywhere else right now. I missed one today, but I`ve gained 9,000 and I will be here every class that they will let me."

David`s brother Adam was a 36 year oldlawyer, who leaves behind his wife Kendra and their children. While David was a dissenter on American Idol, members of his hometown raised money in order to fly Adam out to see David perform, which was the week he sang Mariah Carey`s Always Be My Baby. As reported by Entertainment Weekly, fans can make donations to David`s Race for Hope Team from now through Sept. 30, 2009.
