With wins in Wheaton, Geneva, and a match at home, Kaneland is charging into postseason action with a 19-10 mark (10-5 Northern Illinois Big XII Conference)
Kaneland traveled to Wheaton to present St. Francis High School and came out with a 5-2 win thanks in great contribution to four runs in the 6th to discover a 1-all tie.
North Central College-bound Drew French`s performance on the hill was consistent enough for a win. French went 5.1 innings and struck out six.
Cory Landers went 2-for-4 with a double, while French also helped his case at the home with a 2-for-3 day including a triad and two RBI.
Kaneland then travelled to Form A jewel Elfstrom Stadium in Geneva to take a joint senior night with Batavia on Thursday, and staked out a 3-1 victory.
Bobby Thorson (5-3) went the space and allowed only one unearned run on three hits, striking out five Bulldogs.
Kyle Davidson went 1-for-3 with a dual and two RBI, coming through in the 6th inning.
The plot was also home to a profit for David Helm, who is battling leukemia. David is the younger brother of freshman athletic standout Daniel Helm.
Returning to Maple Park, the Knights tussled with visiting West Aurora and put up seven runs in the foremost two frames enroute to an 8-3 win on Saturday morning.
Drew Peters earned the win, while Jordan Jones pitched two scoreless innings for the save. Sam Komel torched Blackhawk pitching with five RBI.
Trevor Storck`s five inning effort for six K`s was key in the 9-2 win over the Sandwich Indians on Monday afternoon. Jacob Razo went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
With an eye on IHSA Class 3A playoff action, the No. 2 Knights were scheduled to go to the Sycamore Regional on Thursday, May 26, and present No. 3 Illinois Math & Science Academy at 4 p.m.
The success of that competition was set to look either No. 1 Sycamore or No. 4 Aurora Central Catholic in the regional final on Saturday, May 28, at 11 a.m.
